BUSINESS TIME
... According to Deadline, USA will likely pass on renewing its dramedy Common Law for a second season. The show about two cops who undergo couples counseling never really pulled in the right ratings, and became the network's lowest-rated series. Fellow USA shows Fairly Legal and Necessary Roughness are also in trouble. [Deadline Hollywood]
... (American) Football rules all! CBS is adjusting the start times of its primetime programs on Sundays when it airs a pigskin double header after multiple instances of football overrun wreaking havoc on its schedule. Late games on Sundays have been moved back to a 4:25pm start time (probably due to early game overrun), making it even more necessary to push primetime shows back half an hour this season. That means 60 Minutes will start at 7:30pm instead of 7pm, and the rest of CBS's Sunday shows will shift accordingly. [Hitfix]
... Raising Hope creator Greg Garcia has two more shows in the works, this time at CBS. One is said to be a single-camera comedy in the vein of his other shows (quirky family!), and the other is about a mid-20s woman who documents her family on video to prove that they are crazy, which also sounds like a single-camera project. ... Cartoon Network has greenlighted two new series. Steven Universe comes from Adventure Time's Rebecca Sugar and follows a boy who is a member of the Guardians of the Universe, and Uncle Grandpa is about a "magical" uncle! And grandpa! I'm much more excited about these than I am about those Greg Garcia projects. [Deadline Hollywood]
... A & E has ordered a pilot for Occult, a supernatural drama from producer Michael Bay. The plot might sound awfully familiar: two FBI agents, a man and a woman, investigate cases involving the occult. [Deadline Hollywood]

... Rumor has it that Simon Cowell wants Khloe Kardashian to host his talent show The X Factor in an effort to draw in a younger (and stupider) audience. "It's about time Khloe Kardashian caught a break," said a sarcastic cow. [TMZ]
... The Emmys this year will at least try to be funny. Among the presenters who will read bad teleprompter jokes in a few weeks will be Jim Parsons, Mindy Kaling, Louis C.K., Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, and Ginnifer Goodwin. ... Jason Lee (My Name Is Earl) will guest-star on Men At Work in the second season, playing an annoying co-worker of the guys. [TV Guide]
... Parks and Recreation will welcome back funny guy Ben Schwartz (House of Lies) next season. Schwartz will reprise his role as Jean-Ralphio, the man who helped Tom start up the horrible business Entertainment 720. [TV Guide]
