Watch the First Official Trailer for Fox's Axe Cop, Featuring Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman (VIDEO)

This summer, Fox will launch an Adult Swim-esque "alternative animated programming block" called Animation Domination Hi-Def (ADHD, har), and featuring several new 15-minute animated series. One of those series will be Axe Cop, based on the popular web comic created in late 2009 by a five-year-old kid named Malachi and his 29-year-old brother, Ethan. As the story goes, Ethan and Malachi were playing pretend one day when Malachi invented the Axe Cop character; Ethan, a graphic artist, decided to transform his little bro's ideas into a web comic as a way of practicing the medium. And so was born an epic tale of an axe-wielding police officer whose adventures involve everything from babysitting to fighting zombies, dinosaurs, and robots.

Here's the official logline for the show:

Operating on only two minutes of sleep a night and fueled by a diet consisting solely of birthday cake, awesome superhero AXE COP and his loyal partner, FLUTE COP, unleash their unique brand of vigilante justice on bad guys everywhere.

And here's the first official trailer, released this weekend at WonderCon:

Um, Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman is voicing Axe Cop himself? And Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks, Ken Marino, Patton Oswalt, and Megan Mullally are also involved in the project? Sign me up.

Axe Cop premieres as part of Fox's ADHD animation block on Saturday, July 27 at 11pm.

True Blood Season 6 Has a Premiere Date and a New Trailer Featuring Bloody Billith and Shirtless Alcide (VIDEO)

Here we go again! HBO has announced a premiere date for the sixth season of its you-think-it-can't-get-any-more-ridiculous-but-then-all-of-a-sudden-Bill-is-a-naked-bloody-ghost-god vampire saga, True Blood, and released some brand-new footage to go with it. The show will return on Sunday, June 16 at 9pm, and from the looks of this promo, Season 6 will pick up exactly where Season 5 left off:

So... Bill(ith) is looking as bloody as ever; is he the new Big Bad? And what's with Eric's dopey new getup? And why is Pam trying to slap Tara—shouldn't they still be making out? And what's Alcide going on about? And what's the deal with that bearded dude in the hat who appears as the voiceover warns that "the tyrant is rising—it is the beginning of the end"?

Any and all speculation is welcome in the comments.

What are you hoping to see in True Blood Season 6? How do you think the show will fare in its first season without Alan Ball as showrunner?

Parks and Rec: The First Episode of Aubrey Plaza and Adam Scott's New Podcast, Featuring TV.com

Parks and Recreation returns for its fifth season tonight, and a super-secret, little-known fact about TV shows returning for new seasons is that a lot of times the stars of the TV shows that are returning for new seasons will do a bunch of press to promote the fact that their TV shows are returning for new seasons. The more you know. Anyway, yesterday I had a chance to briefly interview Parks and Rec's Aubrey Plaza and Adam Scott about the show's new season. And I love Parks and Rec and I love Aubrey Plaza and Adam Scott, so obviously I jumped at the chance.

The following video is the result. Things start out normal, with me asking boilerplate questions about the new season (note to self: write better interview questions!), and then the interview takes a turn for the (delightfully!) weird and all of a sudden we're doing a podcast sponsored by the bible. Before you watch, please know these things:

1. Aubrey Plaza and Adam Scott are very funny. Me, less so. Remember when Price interviewed Candice Accola from The Vampire Diaries and got all starstruck? I was starstruck and then some, which is my only excuse for starting the interview by getting the season number wrong and ending it with an awkward comment about how Adam Scott as Ben wore a Batman costume last season.

2. This was a satellite interview, which means Aubrey and Adam were answering my questions on camera while I spoke to them via phone (they're wearing earpieces); I couldn't see them and they couldn't see me, hence some of the weird interruptions and Adam Scott checking his phone in the beginning. They miiiight have been told I'd be transcribing this "for print." But the video was good so I decided to post it, unedited, for your viewing pleasure.

Okay, I'll shut up now. Ladies and gentlemen Adam Scott and Aubrey Plaza!

Parks and Recreation returns for Season 4 tonight at 9:30pm on NBC.
